Vickie Mabry

With a degree in Journalism from UGA, I've built a career in public relations, marketing and communications for associations. My clients have represented a diverse mix of industries -- from food and beverage manufacturers and restaurants to product fundraising. My writing experiences have been equally diverse -- from newsletters and magazine articles to corporate brochures, annual reports and awards ceremony scripts with supporting PowerPoints. I've developed successful media campaigns to lay and trade press that resulted in unprecedented media impressions. My clients have landed on the pages of Life Magazine, Better Homes & Gardens, Gourmet, Bon Appetit, Southern Living and a host of well-respected newspapers and industry trade publications. I love good story telling, the occasional unorthodox approach and the notion that a good lead can draw in even the most hardened reader.

"RCA has a great deal and we're only telling our old friends." This email targeted former RCA members and resulted in the return of 19 prodigal members. Who doesn't love discounts?

RCA_Three Easy Pieces

This email campaign was adapted and used between May 2015 and March 2016 to recruit new members to RCA from a targeted pool of prospects identified through a strategic alliance with the Institute of Food Technologists plus Culinology magazine readers who were not already members of RCA. We had over 200 click thrus.

Mini Poster

"We don’t do this very often but we are certain that this small investment will result in a life changing experience for at least one of your students." This 11x17 poster was developed in Word and printed at a nearby copy shop to save money. The committee love it, but I wonder how many people actually gave up their Starbucks. I like to imagine that the "suits" in Seattle actually saw a dip in sales.

Student_Teacher Campaign

"We are looking for tomorrow’s food innovators. We think they may be in your classrooms. Can you introduce us?" Conceived by RCA's membership committee to recruit more students AND teachers, this campaign involved emails and posters to top culinary and food science schools.
